Don't know when I will be posting again, if ever.
America is not a great country anymore. We aee a third world country. Get used to it. We voted for change and we got Bush lite. Which is kind of ironic because he isn't lite. He's dark, but he's still Bush lite. No change in the war. In fact he is widening it, expanding it. No accountability for torture. In fact he's making every effort to hide it and hope it all goes down the memory hole.
We have one of the worst health care systems in the world and Obama and Congress are set to do all they can to make the insurance companies happy, while the rest of us were hoping for a good single-payer system.
Obama has bailed out the banks to the tune of billions and billions of dollars of our tax money. Meanwhile the banks are sitting on our cash and giving the middle finger to us taxpayers who need help with our mortgages and credit card debts. Unemployment is heading toward Great Depression levels.
The corporations have bought the Congress and there's not a damn thing we can do about it. The Democrats are a huge disappointment.
Manufacturing in this country is a thing of the past. ONe of our principal exports is jobs.
Union membership is at an all-time low and the the Employee Free Choice Act seems destined to fail.
We spend billions on a useless drug war.
We lock up far and away more people in our prisons than any other country. Cuba is way down at the bottom of the list. We're at the very top.
We have one of the worst education systems in the world. The Los Angeles Unified School District has a dropout rate of 50 percent. And other countries are outstripping our output of math and science college grads. By the way, college is getting too expensive. Middle class kids can't afford to go to college anymore.
What else can go wron?
Looks like not much can go right. Not in this country.
