Obama Follows Bush Policy:
No Disclosure in Illegal Wiretaps

Dear Mr. President:

What are you thinking? Defending the illegal Bush wiretapping? More trashing of the 4th Amendment? Giving Cheney and company a free pass? We all thought you were about CHANGE!

From The Raw Story:

President Barack Obama invoked "state secrets" to prevent a court from reviewing the legality of the National Security Agency's warantless wiretapping program, moving late Friday to have a lawsuit that challenged the program dismissed.

In attempting to block a San Fransisco court from reviewing documents relating to the NSA program, the Obama Administration is also protecting other individuals named as defendants in the suit: Vice President Dick Cheney, former Cheney chief of staff David Addington and former Bush Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

The lawsuit was filed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

And we thought Obama was all about Change. Protecting these criminals and their criminal activity is not change.

Did you see the story on the stay behinds that Cheney left in all the departments?? I still maintain that there are so many of them burrowed in by Bush and Cheney that until they are all gone we are very hard pressed to blame Pres. Obama for everything. Besides they have so much on their plate, with everything else they have to clean up from Bush it is not surprising they are holding off on some stuff until they get a chance to really dig into it. I know AG Holder is just swamped with financial stuff.. and just the other day he reviewed the Stevens conviction, now Seliegman is calling him from Alabama I think it is.. along with everything else... plus his 2nd in command is getting blocked by the rethugs in congress, Dawn Johnson is getting blocked because they are afraid of her, the judges are getting blocked by them. He is really fighting hard.. Holder I mean..

I know the last guy that blocked the state secrets case was a holdover from the Bush years.. I am betting this atty is too.

OK, Annette, it will take a while before we know what Obama is really made of. I just hope he does well enough to get some more Democrats in at the midterms. I would hate to see the Republicans back in charge. Disaster.
